In 2022, we purchased a property that originally featured a land lot with a poured concrete foundation intended for a garage. Instead of starting from scratch, we chose to repurpose the existing structure into a three-bedroom house. We retained the first-floor ceiling height and concrete floors, transforming the garage's layout to create an open-concept kitchen, living, and dining area. This space was designed in a transitional style, blending traditional core pieces with modern accents.

Given our tight budget, much of the work was done by my husband and me. We sourced many decor items from Facebook Marketplace and second-hand or antique stores. We repurposed dressers into vanities, refinished yard sale and second hand items to highlight their raw charm, found affordable alternatives to our favorite designer pieces and so on. By sticking to a palette of white, walnut, and cool gray, we were able to create a cohesive and thoughtfully curated collection of elements, despite the mix-and-match nature of our finds. Below are photos of the current home.
